Internship તમારી technical abilities વધારે છે, પરંતુ career માટે એટલી જ મહત્વપૂર્ણ બીજી બાબત પણ વિકસાવે છે: workમાં effective અને trusted બનાવતી professional qualities. આ human અને behavioural skills examમાં test થતી નથી, પરંતુ દરેક employer તેને value કરે છે.
આ unitનો closing lesson interpersonal અને communication skills, problem-solving, તથા responsibility, discipline અને work ethics પર છે. Soft skills તમે recently ભણ્યા છે; internshipમાં તેને real workplaceમાં day after day live કરો છો. Doingથી શીખેલી આ qualities internshipનો મોટો લાભ છે.

તમે કઈ professional qualities build કરો છો
Real workplace એવી qualities વિકસાવે છે જે classમાં સંપૂર્ણ રીતે શીખવી મુશ્કેલ છે.
Interpersonal અને communication skills: colleagues સાથે કામ કરવું, clearly communicate કરવું, collaborate કરવું અને teamમાં fit થવું. Problem-solving: textbook answer વગરના real અને unstructured problemsનો solution શોધવો. Responsibility, discipline અને work ethics: reliable રહેવું, એટલે જે કહ્યું તે કરવું; punctual રહેવું; પોતાના work માટે accountable રહેવું; honest અને professional conduct રાખવું.
આ qualities being thereથી શીખાય છે: professionals કેવી રીતે behave કરે છે તે observe કરો અને તે behaviour practice કરો. On time પહોંચવું, tasks seriously લેવું, well communicate કરવું અને integrityથી કામ કરવું: આ habits doingથી બને છે અને coding skillની બહાર તમે workમાં કેવી રીતે જોવાઓ છો તે shape કરે છે.

આ બાબતો seriously લો, કારણ કે careerમાં professional qualities technical skill જેટલી જ મહત્વપૂર્ણ હોઈ શકે છે. Reliable, communicative અને responsible વ્યક્તિ જે problems solve કરે અને integrityથી behave કરે તેને trust અને વધુ opportunities મળે છે. Technical ability હોવા છતાં unreliable અથવા poor communicator struggle કરી શકે છે.

કારણ કે આ qualities BEHAVIOURS અને HABITS છે, માત્ર study કરવાનું knowledge નથી. Real experience, consequences અને relationships દ્વારા તે develop થાય છે, એટલે real workplaceમાં રહીને તેને day after day practise કરવી પડે છે.

Interpersonal skills actual colleagues સાથે personalities સમજવાથી, shared goals પર collaborate કરવાથી, misunderstandings handle કરવાથી અને અલગ people પ્રમાણે communication બદલવાથી sharpen થાય છે. Real problem-solving પણ tidy exercise કરતાં અલગ છે, કારણ કે real constraints અને incomplete information હોય છે.
Workplaceમાં professionals કેવી રીતે communicate કરે, ownership લે અને pressureમાં behave કરે તે OBSERVE અને imitate કરવાથી પણ શીખાય છે. આ immersion classroom lectureથી replicate થઈ શકતું નથી. Professional qualities practised, experienced અને modelled થવાથી બને છે. એટલે internship degreeમાં મહત્વપૂર્ણ છે: તે classroom describe કરી શકે પણ fully instil ન કરી શકે એવી human અને professional capabilities develop કરે છે.
