University timetable માં નથી
University exam timetable આવે છે અને Riya એને બે વાર ચકાસે છે: તેનો skill course તેમાં નથી. કોઈ hall ticket entry નથી, 3 કલાકનું paper પણ નથી.
એક ક્ષણ માટે લાગે છે કે course count થતો જ નથી. પરંતુ એ સંપૂર્ણપણે count થાય છે: 2 real credits. ફક્ત તેનું marking તમારી નજીક, એટલે કે institute level પર થાય છે.
BCA306 નું evaluation તમારી institute કરે છે, અને આ marking કેવી રીતે થાય છે એ જાણવું easy marks મેળવવા અને શાંતિથી marks ગુમાવી દેવા વચ્ચેનો તફાવત છે.

Home match, official points
તમારા home ground પર local referees સાથે રમાતી league match વિચારો: venue ઓળખીતું છે, officials તમારી પોતાની institute ના છે, પરંતુ points official league table માં જ ઉમેરાય છે. Institute-level evaluation પણ બરાબર આવું જ છે: locally conducted, officially counted. બીજા કોઈ subject ની જેમ આ 2 credits પણ તમારા degree record માં દાખલ થાય છે.

BCA306 નું assessment:
- Institute level પર evaluated: તમારી institute course ચલાવે અને marks આપે છે; કોઈ central university paper નથી.
- 50% internal: semester દરમિયાન attendance, assignments, lab અથવા field work અને logs દ્વારા મેળવવાના (ચોક્કસ components તમારી institute જણાવશે).
- 50% external: અંતે test, viva, demonstration અથવા report જેવી assessment, institute ની જાહેરાત પ્રમાણે.
- સફળ completion પછી 2 credits મળે છે, જે તમારા degree total માં ઉમેરાય છે.

Credits degree ની currency છે: તમારા semester અને programme totals દરેક course થી બને છે, અને 2 credits ઓછા રહેવા એટલે requirement અધૂરી રહેવી, ભલે તમે બીજા subjects માં કેટલા પણ સારા marks મેળવ્યા હોય. પછીથી એને clear કરવું એટલે જે course સમયસર પૂરો કરી શકાતા, તેનો backlog સાથે લઈને ચાલવું. ઉપરાંત, તેના અડધા marks આખા semester દરમિયાન ધીમે ધીમે મળે છે, એટલે ignore કરવાનો ખર્ચ શરૂઆતથી જ વધતો જાય છે. નાની denomination છે, પણ degree માટે legal tender તો છે.

Internal marks છેલ્લે cramming કરી શકાતા નથી
External half માટે એક date હોય છે; internal half માટે આખો સમયગાળો હોય છે. Attendance, assignments અને logs અઠવાડિયા પછી અઠવાડિયે બને છે, અને છેલ્લાં બે અઠવાડિયા સુધીમાં એ મોટા ભાગે નક્કી થઈ ચૂક્યા હોય છે. મોડા જાગતા students internal marks ની સૌથી ખરાબ બાબત સમજે છે: એ પાછળથી બનાવી શકાતા નથી. Week 1 થી જ file શરૂ કરો, ખાસ કરીને internship route માં, જ્યાં log ઘણી વાર evidence હોય છે.

આ frame યાદ રાખો: institute-level, 50/50, 2 credits. તમારો VAC (BCA307) પણ આ જ frame વાપરે છે, એટલે એક વાર સમજશો તો બંને subjects માટે કામ લાગશે. External half માં આવતી viva અથવા demonstration ને practice માનો. Semester 5 અને 6 ના project vivas માં પણ એ જ skill જોઈએ છે: તમારું પોતાનું work બોલીને સમજાવવું.
