Arjun ના Navsari વાળા પડોશી computer sales અને service shop ચલાવે છે. Diwali season આવી રહી છે, અને તેઓ Arjun ને એક મહિના માટે real work ની offer આપે છે: billing entries, basic hardware fixes અને actual customers સામે કામ કરવું.
Arjun ના classmates BCA306 માટે certificate courses માં enrol થઈ રહ્યા છે. તે વિચારે છે કે શું એક મહિના જેટલું real work એના બદલે count થઈ શકે?
થઈ શકે છે. SEC-03 આ માટે ખાસ બીજો રસ્તો ખુલ્લો રાખે છે: certificate course ના બદલે field training અથવા internship training.

Certificate course diagrams દ્વારા swimming શીખવે છે: whiteboard પર strokes સમજાવવામાં આવે છે, પછી થોડી practice થાય છે. Internship તમને coach ની નજર હેઠળ shallow end માં ઉતારે છે. બંને તમને swimming શીખવી શકે છે. Internship route structured syllabus ના બદલે કંઈક વધુ દુર્લભ વસ્તુ આપે છે: real water. Real customers, real deadlines અને classroom માં ઊભી ન કરી શકાય એવા નાના shocks.

Certificate course ના બદલે BCA306 માટે તમે field training અથવા internship training કરી શકો છો. Reward બદલાતો નથી: સફળ completion પછી પણ એ જ 2 credits મળે છે.
આ training count થાય તેનું કારણ એ છે કે આ recognised arrangement હોવી જોઈએ, કોઈ relative ની shop માં casual help નહીં: તમારી institute એ મંજૂર કરવું પડશે કે તમે ક્યાં, કેટલા સમય માટે, અને કોણની supervision તથા certification હેઠળ training લેશો. આ details institute-specific છે, તેથી day 1 પહેલાં confirm કરી લો.

Internship route ત્યારે જ count થાય છે જ્યારે institute arrangement ને approve કરે અને તેના record પર વિશ્વાસ કરી શકે: place, duration, supervision અને evidence. Unapproved work ખરેખરનું હોય તો પણ credits માં convert ન થાય. Process skip કરવા માટે કોઈ extra marks મળતા નથી, real work આપોઆપ count થતું નથી, અને કોઈ MOOC penalty પણ નથી. સાચું risk આખા component ને ગુમાવવાનું છે.

આ રસ્તો કયા student એ પસંદ કરવો?
બે classmates વિચારો: એક doing દ્વારા સૌથી સારું શીખે છે અને એક real IT shop એને train કરવા તૈયાર છે; બીજો શરૂઆતથી brand-new tool શીખવા માંગે છે પરંતુ નજીકમાં workplace નથી. Tap કરતા પહેલાં નક્કી કરો કે internship route કોણે પસંદ કરવો જોઈએ અને શા માટે.

પહેલા student એ. જ્યારે genuine workplace અને supervisor ઉપલબ્ધ હોય અને student doing દ્વારા શીખતો હોય ત્યારે internship route સૌથી ઉપયોગી બને છે: એને exposure, reference અને resume line મળે છે. બીજા student માટે structured certificate course વધુ યોગ્ય છે: brand-new tool માટે syllabus જોઈએ, અને નબળું અથવા informal workplace સારી course કરતાં ઓછું શીખવી શકે છે. Credits બંનેમાં સરખા છે, એટલે કયું સહેલું લાગે છે તે નહીં, પરંતુ learning style અને opportunity ની quality પ્રમાણે પસંદ કરો.

Marks ગુમાવવાનો pattern internship ને casual રીતે લેવાનો છે: approval વગર શરૂ કરવું, attendance અથવા work log ન રાખવો, અને અંતે shop owner પાસે ઉતાવળમાં letter માગવું. Evaluation ને વિશ્વાસ કરી શકાય એવું evidence જોઈએ. શરૂ કરતા પહેલાં arrangement approve કરાવો, training દરમિયાન log જાળવો, અને institute જે report અથવા sign-off માગે તે પછી submit કરો.

મોટી opportunities માટે rehearsal
આ તમારો પહેલો formally recognised work experience છે અને આગળના semesters ના મોટા internships તથા projects માટેની નાની rehearsal છે. આ habits સીધી આગળ કામ આવે છે: approvals, logbooks, supervisor feedback અને final report. Interviews માં પણ real customers સાથેનો એક મહિનો ઘણી વાર વધુ એક certificate કરતાં સારી stories આપે છે.
