Theory

Message delivered. Communication failed.

आप अपने project partner को text करते हैं: "bring the report tomorrow".

Theory

A phone call, dissected

Theory

The definition, exam-ready

Communication is the two-way process by which a sender transmits information, ideas or feelings to a receiver through a channel, in order to create shared understanding.

  • shared understanding (goal meaning है, सिर्फ delivery नहीं)

Theory

The six elements

Quiz

  1. Channel
  2. Feedback
  3. Context
  4. Encoding
Show the answer

Feedback

Think first

Show the answer

इसीलिए हर definition two-way पर ज़ोर देती है: one-way delivery में कोई error check ही नहीं होता।

Theory

Five features worth naming

  • Aims at shared understanding: words deliver होना ≠ meaning deliver होना
  • Verbal and non-verbal: tone,

Quiz

  1. Channel electronic है
  3. Message verbal
Show the answer

Formula

The one-line exam formula

Communication = Sender + Message + Channel + Receiver + Feedback (within a Context). अपना answer उस definition से शुरू कीजिए जिसमें "process", "two-way" और "shared understanding" हों, फिर हर element को एक-एक line में expand कर दीजिए। बस यही structure topper के answer जैसा पढ़ने लगता है।

Watch out

The mark-losing sentence

कभी मत लिखिए "communication means speaking or giving information".

Summary

Key takeaways

  • Communication एक two-way process है जिसका goal shared understanding है, सिर्फ words की delivery नहीं।
  • 6 elements: sender, message, channel, receiver, feedback, context।
