Cramer's Rule

Cramer's rule માત્ર determinants વાપરીને equations નો set solve કરે છે: x = Dx/D અને y = Dy/D, જ્યાં Dx અને Dy માં ખાલી constants ને right column માં મૂકી દેવાના.

Theory

Constants

Theory

હવે rule, formally

System માટે a₁x + b₁y = c₁ અને a₂x + b₂y = c₂:

D = | a₁ b₁ | Dx = | c₁ b₁ | Dy = | a₁ c₁ |

| a₂ b₂ | | c₂ b₂ | | a₂ c₂ |

x = Dx / D અને y = Dy / D

Follow along

Cramer 5 steps માં

2×2 determinant: ad - bc.

Theory

System: 2x + 3y = 39 અને x + 2y = 23 (x = samosa, y = tea).

D = | 2 3 | = 2·2 - 3·1 = 1

| 1 2 |

Dx = | 39 3 | = 39·2 - 3·23 = 78 - 69 = 9

| 23 2 |

Dy = | 2 39 | = 2·23 - 39·1 = 46 - 39 = 7

| 1 23 |

Think first

x + y = 5

x - y = 1

Show the answer

D = | 1 1 | = -1 - 1 = -2

| 1 -1 |

Quiz

Cramer's rule

  1. D = 0 હોય ત્યારે
  2. constants c₁, c₂ zero
  3. solution negative
  4. coefficients fraction
Show the answer

D = 0 હોય ત્યારે

x = Dx/D માં D વડે ભાગવાનું આવે છે, અને zero વડે ભાગવું એ meaningless છે: D = 0 એ signal આપે છે કે lines parallel છે અથવા સાવ same છે, એટલે unique solution જ નથી. Constants zero હોય તો વાંધો નહીં (answer કદાચ 0 આવે એટલું જ), અને negative કે fraction થી rule ને કંઈ ફેર પડતો નથી.

Quiz

Show the answer

Watch out

Theory

Summary

Key takeaways

  • Cramer's rule માત્ર determinants વાપરીને systems solve કરે છે: no substitution, no rearranging.
