Puranapuranabhyam: By the completion or non-completion

Puranapuranabhyam, by completion or non-completion, एक number को एक convenient whole तक round करने, easy calculation करने, फिर आपने जो add किया उसके लिए back adjust करने की trick है, और यह completing the square के idea को भी नाम देता है।

Round Up कीजिए, फिर Back Adjust कीजिए

वह move, एक number को एक convenient round value तक complete कीजिए, easily compute कीजिए, फिर जो आपने add किया उसके लिए adjust कीजिए, sutra Puranapuranabhyam है, 'by the completion or non-completion'। यह lesson arithmetic form सिखाता है और इसके algebraic cousin, completing the square, को note करता है, Bharati Krishna Tirtha की 1965 की book से।

Theory

Arithmetic में Completion

Result: 68 plus 57 = 125।

Practical

Completion-Based Addition (verified)

def add_by_completion(a, b, round_to):
    # complete 'a' up to round_to, add, then adjust back
    added = round_to - a         # 70 - 68 = 2
    easy  = round_to + b         # 70 + 57 = 127
    return easy - added          # 127 - 2 = 125

print(add_by_completion(68, 57, 70))   # 125
# Same answer as 68 + 57, via an easier intermediate step.

Formula

Same Idea: Completing the Square

Algebra में, completing the square exactly यही idea है: आप x squared + 6x जैसा एक expression लेते हैं और इसे एक perfect square तक complete करते हैं, (x + 3) squared, फिर extra subtract करके adjust करते हैं: (x + 3) squared - 9।

Quiz

Show the answer

Option A wrong way adjust

Think first

Show the answer

Effect में आप एक hard step (एक carry वाला addition) को दो easy steps (एक round addition plus एक tiny subtraction) से replace करते हैं, जो mental work के लिए faster और more reliable है।

Summary

Key takeaways

  • Puranapuranabhyam ('by completion or non-completion') एक number को एक convenient value तक complete करता है, easily compute करता है, फिर back adjust करता है।
  • Algebra में same idea completing the square है: x squared + 6x, (x + 3) squared - 9 बनता है।
  • Memory hook: round up कीजिए, easily compute कीजिए, जो add किया उससे back adjust कीजिए।
