Theory

Shortcuts

Theory

  • Right part: deficiencies multiply कीजिए, 4 times 5, 20 है।

Theory

  • 45 squared: front part 4, एक more (5) times, है 4 times 5 = 20; 25 append कीजिए -> 2025।
  • 95 squared: front part 9, एक more (10) times, है 9 times 10 = 90; 25 append कीजिए -> 9025।

Practical

def nikhilam(a, b, base=100):
    da, db = base - a, base - b
    return (a - db) * base + da * db

def square_ending_in_5(n):
    f = n // 10
    return f * (f + 1) * 100 + 25

print(nikhilam(96, 95))        # 9120
print(square_ending_in_5(45))  # 2025
print(square_ending_in_5(95))  # 9025

This example runs in Gri-Learn on the web, where you can edit it and see the output.

Quiz

  1. 9120, left 91 (96-5) और right 20 (4x5) से
  2. 9130, left 91 और right 30 से
  3. 8145, deficiencies add
Show the answer

9120, left 91 (96-5) और right 20 (4x5) से

100 से 96 और 95 की deficiencies 4 और 5 हैं। Left part: 96 minus 5 (cross-subtraction) 91 है। Right part: 4 times 5, 20 है। Combine कीजिए: 91 | 20 = 9120, जो 96 times 95 के बराबर है। Option B right part को mis-compute करता है (4 times 5, 20 है, 30 नहीं)। Option C method apply करने की बजाय deficiencies add करता है। Option D इसे squares-ending-in-5 rule से confuse करता है; 96 times 95, 25 पर end नहीं होता। Shape recognise कीजिए (100 के near दो numbers -> Nikhilam), फिर extract कीजिए: deficiencies, cross-subtract, multiply, combine।

Think first

Show the answer

यह understanding है, पर slow है, और exam या real-world pressure के under, slow-and-deliberate काफी नहीं है। Recognition plus repetition equals fluency।

Summary

Key takeaways

  • 96 times 95 पर Nikhilam: deficiencies 4 और 5, left 91, right 20 -> 9120।
  • 45 squared पर Ekadhikena -> 2025, और 95 squared -> 90 | 25 = 9025।
  • हर answer ordinary arithmetic के against check होता है; same coded functions नए inputs handle करते हैं।
